Taylor & Dalton's wedding day was held at their family church in Dixie, Ga, just minutes from their home. They consider themselves very close with their families and their day was centered around those relationships. They had a cozy ceremony surrounded by their closest loved ones, followed by an intimate reception provided by friends of the church. They are both calm and laid-back souls and I think their day matched their personalities perfectly. I also want to give huge shout to their wedding party for being so awesome! We had a limited amount of light for photos following their ceremony and they jumped right in and helped us get the sweet shots we were hoping for! In addition to just being great friends and really made their day special. You guys all rocked it.

From what I've gathered, Chris & Victoria have family ties here in the U.S. (where they met), but also Brazil (where Vicky is from), Germany, and Japan (and there's probably more). They were blessed to have family travel from all over to be with them on this special day.

Early in the planning process, Vicky & I sat down to discuss the timeline for the upcoming day. That's when she mentioned they would be having "Thanksgiving food" catered for their reception. She said, besides it being a November wedding, that it made the most sense to have Thanksgiving dinner with everyone while they're all here in one place. I teared up when she said that and I'm tearing up again now. That's one of the sweetest things I've ever heard. (I must mention that food was some of the best meals I've ever had at a wedding! S/o to Robin's Nest Catering!!)

Before the reception even started though, it was very important to them that they had a chance to thank each guest for being a part of their lives. During their bilingual speech (Chris would speak in English, then Vicky would translate into Portuguese) they also shared the unique story of how they met (her being an exchange student and sitting next to each other in class by happenstance). Again, crying. I love their story.

They are a unique couple, with a unique journey, and their wedding day was no different -- 100% unique.

I got to photograph these two on their special 3 years ago! Aren't they adorable?! Even sweeter: Coleman was a groomsman for Jared & Courtney. Now they've now swapped places for Coleman & Amanda's special day.

Gosh, I love these two. Amanda & Coleman are easily some of the most genuine individuals I've ever met. And how amazing is it two people such as that have been paired together?!  When I first met them and learned a bit about their story, observing their connection & how they interacted with one another (and also being able to talk with them as if we'd already been friends for years), I just knew they were special. I think I was put under #TheMileySpell too, if that's a thing lol. They're both just so open-hearted, fun-loving and personable. They're anyone's friend. I love that about them. I hope they had a blast on their wedding day like they hoped! By looks of the million and one photos (exaggerating) I have of them twerking the entire night, I believe they did -- haha!

Thank you both so much for inviting me on this journey and allowing me to be part of all the fun. You guys have something strong.

Ladies & gentleman, I introduce to you one of the most photogenic couples I've ever worked with: Hoke & Casey!! Picking only a few highlights to share from their wedding day was a CHALLENGE. Because... LOOK AT THEM.

Thanks to Casey's effortless beauty & Hoke natural ability to fearlessly love on his woman, I barely had to pose them. I'd attempt to setup a moment for them, then they would , almost intuitively, anticipate what I was going to say and would do it before I could get it out my mouth. I could've quit right then. They didn't need me. Lol! But I'm beyond honored they allowed me into their world for a moment & let me capture them as they are -- Completely in love.

I must also mention a rainbow draped the bridesmaids earlier in the day (scroll back up if you missed it), a dragonfly (symbolizing change, transformation, deeper meaning of life) & a light-colored moth (good luck) landed on the windows during their ceremony, a cricket attached itself to Casey's dress during their Bride & Groom portraits (also good luck), AND it rained at the reception (triple-good-luck). You may not believe in the spiritual nature of things like I do, but for Hoke & Casey's sake let's claim that for them! I've never witnessed that many signs of promise & prosperity in one day before.

Mr & Mrs Morrow thank you for your sharing your love with us. You both smiled the entire day. Ya'll danced & celebrated every chance you got. Your friends contiously praised you both for your hearts & laughter. You guys are special.

I hope ya'll are having fun in ARUBA!
Talk to ya'll soon.
xoxo

This was, by far, the hottest wedding day I've photographed in 2018. The humidity was insane! It's the kind of weather that brings out the cranky side of folks. But not these two. Chase & Natalie never stopped smiling! They have a calming energy together, it was so refreshing to be around. And it must have been contagious because their wedding party was beyond a pleasure to work with! They were all so kind, helpful, AND fun-loving -- my favorite type of people. They all made my job SO so so soooo easy.

Natalie & Chase have been together since childhood, their faith holds and guides them, and they're love & consideration for each other just seems to come natural to them. A relationship like theirs is a joy to photograph because it takes little effort on my part to make them comfortable and cozy, they already are :-) So I just got to move around them and observe their organic chemistry.

I also admire their heart for other people and their desire to serve. They're both in school for physical therapy and I just know they're going to bring so much light & love to every one they touch.

Mr & Mrs Eckler, I hope ya'll are
enjoying your honeymoon and time away together!! You guys are the sweetest and it was an honor to be a part of your special day!

Talk to ya'll soon!
xoxo

I've had Cody & Emma's wedding day on my calendar for almost 2 years! Emma contacted me in late 2016, already super excited about marrying her best friend. I was so thrilled when she asked me to be a part of this journey with them. So, needless to say I'd been anxiously awaiting this day (as were they!) and it did NOT disappoint.

Right away the day was off to a great start. When I walked into the Patterson's bridal suite, Emma and all her girls greeted me the biggest smiles and hugs. And the second I heard their country radio station switch to Cardi B (my girl), I knew this day was going to be a blast :-)

Emma & Cody are what I'd call a "dream couple." They're kind-hearted, they have fantastic style and easy-going, but they also love to party! Besides being super in love and having a tangible friendship that is just adorable to watch. They continually thanked me throughout the day (which is so encouraging). And BOTH sides of their family were warm, sweet, and also liked to party :-) #Score. As I was saying my goodbyes for the night, Emma's mom told me (in a sing-songy voice) "I just love you!" and hands me a huge slice of cake to take home haha! So on a personal and professional level, those facts alone made their wedding day special to me.

On another note, Emma's wedding dress will definitely go down as one of my favorites from 2018. It was the perfect fusion of classic and modern. Her simple and flowy skirt paired with the lace appliques on top? OHMYGAH. She looked like a movie star! Cody also looked sharp in his navy blue and patriotic socks!

Thank you Mr & Mrs Ebert for being such a joy to work with! Couples like you guys makes my job worth it. I pray that all the smiles you two put into the world will be returned back to you in the biggest way. Ya'll deserve every ounce of happiness life has to offer.

xoxo

Wow! Brittany & Kevin's wedding day will definitely stay fresh in my mind for a long time. Their closest friends and family traveled from all over to witness their vows overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains. I'd seen pictures of the view from Pretty Place Chapel, but I already knew that pictures would not be the same as actually seeing it in person. IT. WAS. BREATHTAKING. I could have stayed there with them all evening if I could have. But the strong winds and heavy rain that came rolling in encouraged us to say our goodbyes to the unforgettable scenery. There was even a moment right before they were introduced as husband & wife, where lightning struck INCHES away from them. We heard a loud pop that sounded like something exploded and then I saw a small spark right behind their officiant. That was the craziest thing I've experienced at a wedding so far! haha! Luckily the rain held off long enough for us to get all of their portraits done and started coming down just as we were wrapping up. Me, Kevin & Brittany were literally running to our cars trying not to get soaked. It was quite the adventure!

We then cruised our way down the mountain back to Greenville to join their guests at the GORGEGOUS and historic Poinsett Hotel. I can't forget to mention that their staff was top notch in every department. We all stayed the weekend there, in addition to the reception, and their hospitality never ceased the entire stay. We had plans to finish of their bride & groom portraits onto the roof there at the hotel, but the rain stopped us. We had fun out in the front of the historic hotel instead and I got to explore around inside with the newlyweds as well. IT was such a unique experience and I'm so grateful Brittany & Kevin allowed me the honor of documenting this special day for them.

Kevin & Brittany are so laid-back and super funny. They're also naturally adventurous and was pretty down for anything, which I really enjoy in a couple. That makes my job super easy! Brittany made sure I, along with my mama & daughter who joined me on the trip, were fed & taken care of the entire time. Which was such a gift in itself. She is just as sweet as she was when we were in high school together! Brides like her really make my job so rewarding. I could honestly sit here and talk about those two all night, but I'll wrap up here. Kevin has been recently station in MO and they'll be making the move from SC within the next week or so. So I wish them safe travels and I'm looking forward to seeing the life build in a new city! Don't be strangers you guys!!

I liked Callie the moment I met her. She’s down to earth, warm, and kind. I immediately felt like I was talking to an old friend. Those are my favorite kind of people. So it’s no wonder to me that Cody likes her a lot too (-; Same goes for Cody, his big smile and contagious enthusiasm left a lasting first impression as well. Them together? #Goals. I doubt those two will ever meet a stranger! I knew right away they were special. And their wedding day would be too.

They didn’t put on a big show, just a celebration of love and togetherness. Using homemade cakes made from scratch, a collection of vintage and antique china, genuine southern hospitality, and a venue where you you could kick off shoes and relax, I felt like I was at an intimate family reunion or just back at home for Sunday dinner. It was so lovely to be a part of!

Callie & Cody, thank you for sharing your love with the world! Couples like ya’ll make life so much sweeter.

From the praise break during the ceremony to the Moroccan inspired decor, this wedding day was full of color & soul! The ceremony was held at Anya's home church which provided a  comfortable and familiar atmosphere for everyone in attendance. I've witnessed my couple's spirituality expressed in varying ways at each of their ceremonies. But this was first time I've seen such a joyous celebration as Anya reached Eric and the end of the aisle. Their pastor then unapologetically led the room into a moment of praise and everyone joined The Browns in their rejoicing. It was a beautiful experience to be a part of.

Their reception decor BLEW me away and I'm everyone would agree with me. It was flawless. I felt like I was in a movie! The room was dressed from floor to ceiling with just about every color imaginable. The dance floor was both chic and relaxed with the sleek couches surrounding it. It was a VIP lounge where everyone was on the list. Then add The Katz Downstairz and DJ Ski-Z for the perfect fusion of ambient melodies & party music to complete the evening.

Anya & Eric, welcome to married life you guys!! It gave me so much joy to document the day your two families became one. I was in awe of your beautiful children & how much they adore ya'll. That says a lot. I wish you all the very best life has to offer as you enter this next season together.

While I was photographing Trey getting ready, he told me about the day he knew Kaley was the one--It was immediately after their first date. He smiled from ear to ear when he said that. With confidence, he said he knew was going to marry her. He went on to say that Kaley also felt the same way. So much so that they both went home and told their parents. I believe he also said they ended up looking at wedding rings on their first date too--if not then, it was right after-- how. freakin'. sweet.

What I love about them is how comfortable they are with each other and how their love radiates onto everyone around them. Kaley is so kind and caring, and Trey is the perfect mixture of sweet and silly --they're just adorable, okay?

They host an intimate brunch wedding right before noon. They served breakfast food, coffee, and (of course) yummy cake to their closest friends and family. I'd also like to add that their reception venue was decorated BEAUTIFULLY thanks to their florist and all their other vendors (please check out their pages below).

Harper Hill Plantation just premiered their wedding venue this year and I was looking forward to working there! They have on-site lodging with plenty of rooms and beds, multiple bathrooms, and LOTS of space to get ready. This is something that I've found to be super important for a wedding venue is to have space for the couple to breathe + relax,  and enough room for large wedding parties/families to all enjoy each others company. The lighting was great too, and that's always a plus for me ;-)

Thank you, Mr. & Mrs. Dollar for allowing me the honor of photographing your journey!
